The evolving trading environment means we must refocus our efforts on our relationships with customers.
Our ambition of being the leading partner to the construction industry will be achieved through both elevating and deepening our well-established customer relationships:
Elevating relationships by adding services
and new areas of added value
Deepening relationships to earn
a greater share of spend
Offering customers more
All of the Group businesses have innovative plans to win share by deepening and elevating customer relationships. As customer needs evolve over time the Group is committed to maintaining leading positions by exceeding expectations wherever possible:
The Travis Perkins General Merchant has clear plans to innovate and grow, cementing its place as the leading general merchant in the UK:
Development of newer, larger branches with improved safety, delivery, productivity and stockholding capabilities facilitated through new branches and relocations.
Further Travis Perkins app developments aimed at both small and large customers will support customers' expanding adoption of digital services.
Continued development of services that save customers time and money. This is possible in many areas such as kitchen design, the provision of tools for hire and the development of innovative customers solutions via Managed Services activity.
The Toolstation model is market leading. Offering a combination of range, accessibility that has allowed consistent market outperformance in recent years.
Further growth comes from our four key areas:
Continue branch roll out programme, including the potential for smaller formats and collection points.
Range development to reach 50,000 products, enhanced delivery propositions and new value-add services.
Enhancing the trade proposition through extended trade ranges and maximising convenience.
Further Toolstation app development alongside an enhanced digital experience, loyalty programme and innovative use of customer data.
With a well established business in the Netherlands and growing businesses in Belgium and France, the potential of the Toolstation model to appeal to customers overseas is becoming clear. Tailoring the proposition to cater for local market requirements allows all three countries to deliver growth and a route to profitability.
Our three specialist merchant businesses offer exceptional service to customers in a way that is uniquely tailored to their individual needs and markets. Each of the three businesses and the TF Solutions opportunity in BSS has a clear growth opportunity based on a combination of four elements:
Core markets + Decarbonisation + Adjacencies + Value-added services
The potential for collaboration between the Travis Perkins General Merchant and Toolstation will provide better and more convenient solutions to trade customers. The Group is in the early stages of exploring how to best combined the strengths of these two businesses to offer an even better service to customers. Trial activity is underway with Travis Perkins customers now able to buy an extended range for home delivery, fulfilled by Toolstation.
